The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will hold the RBI Assistant 2023 exam to find qualified people for the position of Assistant. For a candidate to move on to the Language Proficiency round, they must do well on both the preliminary exam and the mains test. The appointment letter is given to the people who were chosen after the language test. The RBI Assistant 2023 Exam is used to hire assistants. This process is done in three steps:
- Online Preliminary Exam
- Online Mains Exam
- Language Proficiency Test
RBI Assistant Exam Pattern – Prelims
The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is a screening test. It is a way to get rid of people who aren’t very serious. Each part, such as English, Reasoning, and Math, has its own time limit. In order to get into the RBI Assistant Prelims, candidates must pass both a sectional cutoff and a general cutoff. In the table below, candidates can see how the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam will be set up.
- The test will have a total of 100 questions, which will be split into three parts: English language, math skills, and thinking skills.
- There are 60 minutes to finish the whole test, with 20 minutes allotted to each part.
- For every wrong answer, 0.25 points will be taken away from the total score of the candidate.
- All of the questions on the Preliminary Exam will be objective, so prospects will have to pick the right answers.
- The English Language part will only be available in English, but the Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability sections will be available in both English and Hindi.
- It’s important to know that the marks you get on the preliminary exam won’t count toward your final score. The preliminary exam is just a qualifying round.
Name of Tests (Objective) | No. of Questions | Maximum Marks | Total Time |
---|---|---|---|
English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
Numerical Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 minutes |
Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
Note: Candidates must pass each of the three tests by getting at least the minimum number of points set by RBI. RBI will choose an appropriate number of candidates from each group based on what they need for the Online Main Examination.
RBI Assistant Exam Pattern – Mains
RBI Assistant Mains Exam is both a scoring exam and an exam that decides who gets the job. Each part, such as English, Reasoning, General Knowledge, Computer Knowledge, and Mathematics, has its own time limit. To get into the RBI Assistant Mains, candidates must pass both a sectional cutoff and a general cutoff. In the table below, candidates can see how the RBI Assistant Mains Exam is set up.
- The RBI Assistant Mains Exam will have 200 questions in five sections: English language, quantitative aptitude, computer knowledge, general awareness, and reasoning ability.
- The RBI Assistant Mains Exam takes a total of 135 minutes, with each part getting a certain amount of time, as shown below.
- There will be a reduction of 0.25 points for each wrong answer, but there will be no deductions for questions that were not answered.
- In the Mains Exam, all of the questions are of the Objective type.
- The only section that isn’t available in both English and Hindi is the piece on the English language.
- The marks from the main exam, not the preliminary exam, are used to make the rank list. The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is the next step for candidates who pass the Mains.
Name of Tests (Objective) | No of Questions | Maximum Marks | Duration |
---|---|---|---|
Test of Reasoning | 40 | 40 | 30 Minutes |
Test of English Language | 40 | 40 | 30 Minutes |
Test of Numerical Ability | 40 | 40 | 30 Minutes |
Test of General Awareness | 40 | 40 | 25 Minutes |
Test of Computer Knowledge | 40 | 40 | 20 Minutes |
Total | 200 | 200 | 135 Minutes |
Note: There is a penalty for giving the wrong answer in both the online preliminary and online main exams. If you mark a bad answer on one of the Objective Tests, you will get a penalty. For each question where the candidate gave the wrong answer, one-fourth, or 0.25 of the points for that question, will be taken away as a punishment. This is done to get a corrected score. If a candidate doesn’t answer a question, or leaves it blank, there will be no punishment for that question.
Those who pass the RBI Assistant Mains Exam will be asked to take a test of their language skills. The language proficiency levels for each state are listed below.
RBI Assistant Exam Pattern – Language Proficiency Test
A language competency test (LPT) will be given to the candidates who were provisionally chosen from the main online exam. The language test will be given in the official or local language of the state in question (see below for more information). Those who don’t know the Official/Local Language well enough will be rejected.
